This workshop is designed to really put the flow in your vinyasa!
The classic vinyasa transition found in Surya namaskara A and B, and then used throughout vinyasa class as a half vinyasa, can be one of the most challenging aspects of a vinyasa practice. Done well, it strengthens and refines posture no end, and prepares us beautifully for handstands and other arm balances. Done with less than optimal alignment, the repetitive nature of it can easily prove injurious.
Foundations of flow will focus primarily on Surya Namaskara A and B and the basic vinyasa, jumps back and through. It starts as a chaturanga and core stabilisation tune up and will build to more and more flow, giving you invaluable insight into how to work with your entire body to make these sequences smooth and increasingly effortless. While our primary focus will be these transitions and the optimal alignment of your shoulder girdle in and through them, they are perfectly connected to hand-standing and basic arm balancing work. Depending on the flow of the work on the day, we may explore and apply the work to some of these postures.
Expect to be challenged while fully supported and come away feeling empowered to make more of your vinyasa classes. This is the perfect workshop for anyone from the beginner with a little practice under their belt to intermediate and advanced practitioners-a vinyasa tune up is a little like servicing your car, it is best done regularly!
