Humans are hardwired for happiness. Life is abundant with opportunities for pleasure and joy. How do we recapture that when we feel it’s missing in our lives? In this practical, fun and engaging workshop, we take the inner journey into our happy place as we learn how to harness the power of our body’s natural pleasure receptors to enhance our vitality, inner peace and enthusiasm for life. It is a gift of being human that we are resourced for happiness, pleasure and productivity. Within us, we have more neurons than there are stars in the galaxy: signals and messengers lighting pathways within us which are gateways to experiencing all the treasures of life. Meditation can be a tool to consciously connect and collaborate with these sacred inner guides as ways of releasing ourselves from stress and apathy and reclaiming states of motivation and joy. In this workshop, we play with the “magical happiness quartet” of the neurotransmitters Serotonin, Endorphins, Dopamine and Oxytocin – how to recognise when we are low in one or more of them and the life-changing skill of finding everyday practices which keep them in constant, healthy flow.
