Mood, Stress, Behaviour and Mental Health
Our mood and how we feel about ourselves in our day-to-day lives are complex and some people often can’t describe the exact cause or reason why they may feel a particular way. People feel “stressed” in many different ways for many different reasons and can really impact on mentally, physically and socially. Feeling anxious, agitated, constantly worried or panic attacks; irritable or aggressive; depressive, feeling flat, “burnt-out” and lacking of motivation, are all symptoms that people can feel in various combinations and degrees of severity, unique to that individual.
Sleep Disturbances, Insomnia and Circadian Rhythm Disruption
Insomnia, difficulty getting to sleep, light or broken sleep poses a challenge for up to 80% of Australians. Those with busy or stressful lives, shift-workers, parents, the elderly and children often have sleep problems which can lead to waking unrefreshed, daytime fatigue, irritability, poor mood and concentration problems.
Fatigue, Exhaustion, Motivation and Pain
Feeling exhausted, constantly fatigue, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, headaches, migraines, joint or back pain can often be an on-going battle for many people. With the pressure and stress of modern society to perform, keep busy or to “get ahead” professionally, financially, academically or socially has resulted in people feeling overworked or “burnt out” and left with chronic health challenges.
Addiction and Substance Dependency
Caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, “recreational” or “social” drugs, food and sugar, are used by people for many different reasons. The thought of changing habits or behaviour can sometimes feel stressful, overwhelming and isolating. People of all ages and walks of life may depend on substances to alter their mental, emotional or physical state which can have short and long term effects on the quality of a person’s mood, behaviour, energy, health and wellbeing.
Memory, Learning, Concentration and Behaviour
Children, teenagers and adults of all ages can have memory, learning, concentration and behavioural challenges. Brain-fog, difficulty concentrating, staying focused, paying attention, retaining and recalling information are symptoms that many people struggle with but often ignore or feel is beyond their control to improve. Impulsive tendencies, behavioural ticks, OCD, ADHD, ADD and ASD may also all require individualised and specialised support.
Men’s and Women’s Hormonal Health
Endocrine disruption and hormonal imbalances can lead to challenging and interconnected health problems for both men and women of all ages. Men and women can experience a range of signs and symptoms that could influence and impact on their physical and emotional wellbeing as well as their social and romantic relationships. Some women may require support for Acne, PMS, PMDD, PCOS or Endometriosis; Peri-Menopausal or Post-Menopausal symptoms; Mood or Libido difficulties; Preconception, Pregnancy and Fertility. Men may require support for Fertility and Libido Challenges; Acne and Hair loss; Testosterone and Hormonal Imbalances; Prostate Complications, Andropause and Mood fluctuations.
Thyroid, Blood Glucose, Metabolism and Weight Management
Hypothyroid and hyperthyroidism, Metabolic Syndrome, Insulin and Leptin Resistance, Type II Diabetes and Endocrine disruption can all contribute to weight changes and also lead to other health problems including cardiovascular, mood and fertility difficulties. Metabolic disruption and hormonal imbalances are often a complex and interconnected challenge with numerous symptoms experienced.
Immune, Allergy, Gastrointestinal and Chronic Inflammatory Disorders
Respiratory, gastrointestinal and integumentary (skin) systems are intrinsically linked to the immune system. Many people may experience a number of interconnected symptoms or conditions: Allergies, asthma, hay fever, sinusitis, recurrent colds and flus psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis, constipation, diarrhoea, IBS, IBD, Coeliac Disease, and Crohn’s Disease. Autoimmune disorders such as Multiple Sclerosis, Cancer, HIV may also require additional nutritional support.
Detoxification, Digestion and Sensitivities
The modern lifestyle and environment exposes us to many substances and situations which can be taxing on our health including digestive problems such as; IBS, bloating, constipation or diarrhoea, compromised liver function, heavy metal and chemical sensitives, fatigue, headaches and food intolerances. The quality (and quantity) of the food and drink we consume; social circumstances and habits; the air that we breath in as well as our homes and working environments are all factors to be considered.
Craig utilises a wide range of different evidenced-based diagnostic tools and screening strategies to help identify and monitor patients presenting symptoms and current health status. Craig may also incorporate more traditional holistic strategies such as iridology, tongue analysis and Healing Touch - a modality of holistic Mind-Body Medicine. Any herbal, nutritional remedies are in addition to the consultation fee. Craig is a registered member of the Complementary Medicines Association (CMA).
